Journey with Wings did an outstanding job in assisting our family with the final Homegoing for our beloved daughter off the coast of Corona Del Mar. Of special note was the fact Drew contacted us just before the flight, during the flight to ensure we were in place and could see him, and also contacting us afterward to ensure we did see everything, and it went well. The YouTube video set to the song of our choice was more lovely than we could have imagined and will forever be cherished by our entire family. A Journey With Wings provides such a beautiful way to honor a loved one. Jamie was so helpful through the process. She made it very easy to organize and plan the scattering of my mother's ashes off of the coast of Catalina Island. She answered all my questions promptly, which I appreciated! The aerial ceremony for my son's ashes was beautiful. From the time I first inquired about her services to the many many emails and phone calls I made, Jamie was sweet, professional, and very helpful. My family and I traveled from Baltimore to California for this occasion; and when we had to make an unexpected shift in plans due to the weather, Jamie jumped into action and gave us a pleasant option. We had a sunset ceremony and we were able to track Jamie as she traveled to the site. It was a breathtaking experience. For our family and friends who could not attend, the video was also excellent and fully captured the entire experience.

Jamie was caring, communicative, and concise throughout the whole process of scattering my dad’s ashes. Her perseverance and professionalism in the midst of a pretty heavy cloud cover made the blessing of the day even greater as my family, (lots of us including young grand children), got to hear “Jamie The Pilot” over the speaker phone as she kept us appraised and tracked her plane online. Once the ashes were released and they gently made their way into the ocean, we were able to sprinkle some flower petals into the water and gathered for a prayer of thanksgiving for my dad‘s life and the Lord’s amazing grace. My experience with Jamie Tanabe and A Journey with Wings was truly exceptional. It was my mothers wish to have her ashes scattered at sea after her passing. I really wanted to do this in a way that was a memorial of her life and at a place that I could return to at anytime and look skyward and think of her. Jamie and I discussed doing this near the Santa Monica Pier since it is fairly close to my home and a place I could and would visit often. Working out a date was challenging since the nature of my work is somewhat unpredictable but Jamie was extremely understanding and flexible which I greatly appreciated. On the date of the flight Jamie contacted me and explained what she would be doing and what would be the best vantage point to take pictures and witness the memorial. She is warm and caring person which makes getting through these types of events more pleasant. She even took pictures from the plane which she also sent to me. A Journey With Wings is a great option for a memorial of a loved one, and I recommend them to anyone reading this review.

Thank you Jamie for the service and the video. Jamie, the pilot made sure the drop was caught on camera, so, when the GoPro malfunctioned the first time, she came around the second time after the camera was fixed. It was actually perfect because my niece and her family were late, so they were be able to see the drop when the plane came back for the second time around. Jamie Tanabe provided me with a wonderful service in an otherwise very painful time in my life. She is sensitive, professional and efficient. And, since I am limited in my ability to drive much of a distance from home, she met me in my neighborhood to receive the remains of my brother, which she then scattered over the ocean near Dana Point.Yesterday, I received the commemorative plaque she had prepared to include the exact coordinates, the date and time. It is beautiful and exactly what my brother would have wanted. I am very grateful to Jamie for her help in this time of great personal loss.

My heart is still full from the experience of watching my mom's ashes scattered from the air off the coast of South Laguna on what would have been her 85th birthday. Everyone there that morning watching the plane circle was in amazement! A Journey With Wings took so much care not only on the flight that day, but also the time leading up to her scattering, including getting the necessary burial permit. And the lovely certificate with the scatter location (longitude and latitude) that I received in the mail yesterday is a beautiful remembrance. I give high recommendations for A Journey With Wings!!

Our family, residing all over the Midwest, had the daunting long-distance task of fulfilling the wishes of our aunt to have her ashes scattered in the San Gabriel Mountains. She had lived in view of the mountains for 50 years and loved them. We were led to Jamie Tanabe and Tanabe Flying Services never thinking she could make our dream come true. For our good fortune, Tanabe Flying Services has this niche specialty service of scatterings. Even more impressive, Jamie had a contact person who owned a ranch in the San Gabriel’s – Singing Springs Ranch. Located at 4000 feet just off the Angeles Highway, we arrived after a 45 minute drive up the mountain, we were able to park and view Jamie’s noon flyby with our aunt’s ashes. The cloudless sky was bright blue and as Jamie made her third pass over the ranch, the ashes came streaming out of the plane like a wispy cloud and seemed to linger before dispersing. We were awestruck and humbled by this moment which was beautiful and probably much more impactful than any traditional funeral service could have been. We will always have this as a memory that could not have happened without the expertise, care and thoroughness of Tanabe Flying Services.”

We had a amazing farewell to our father. The planned scattering at sea went very well and the pilots communicated with us about time and location for the scattering. This is a great service if you wish to scatter remains of a loved one and there are many different locals to choose from. Our Pt. Fermin location was great and I know my father as a pilot himself would be very pleased to be scattered at sea via airplane.

My dad recently passed away six months after we moved out of California and he moved in with us. An unexpected doctor's visit turned him into brain dead. After 11 days without any life support he passed away in the most horrific way. I was a total wreck. My family couldn't come to the U.S due to Covid travel ban. We had talked about after life arrangement before he died. He really wished to be cremated. However without anybof my siblings here I couldn't do any funeral service for him, since I barely knew anyone in the city we live in now. I was going to wait until my sister comes after Covid to scatter his ashes at the sea. But the uncertainty of when she can come and dad's ashes being in a storage really troubled me even further. I really wanted to send dad off in a dignified way. I dreaded the feeling of sea sickness if we chose to scatter his ashes at sea and we barely have any relatives in the U.S. that would be a sad feeling to hire a big boat to do the ash ceremony. I was very happy when I found A Journey with Wings. The fact they can record the ash scattering really helped me to have a closure knowing all of our family back home can see how dad's ashes were scattered. I immediately authorized the funeral home to ship dad's cremated remains to California. Jamie made arrangements for his ashes being scattered on a sunny day and I got to choose the music for the video and she recommended Laguna beach which is the least polluted and most beautiful. I can feel now my dad's spirit has been set free. America is his second home for 10 years. He can now choose to stay or float back home from the Pacific Ocean. I highly recommend A Journey with Wings for their unique and great service that is perfect for those who choose to be cremated and don't want to occupy any land upon death. The process is so easy and comforting.

This is long overdue, but nonetheless heartfelt. Thank you for making my mom's ash scattering such a beautiful send off. Everything was done with excellent communication and dignity. I couldn't imagine a better or more meaningful way to honor my mom. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

My dad recently passed away six months after we moved out of California and he moved in with us. An unexpected doctor's visit turned him into brain dead. After 11 days without any life support he passed away in the most horrific way. I was a total wreck. My family couldn't come to the U.S due to Covid travel ban. We had talked about after life arrangement before he died. He really wished to be cremated. However without anybof my siblings here I couldn't do any funeral service for him, since I barely knew anyone in the city we live in now. I was going to wait until my sister comes after Covid to scatter his ashes at the sea. But the uncertainty of when she can come and dad's ashes being in a storage really troubled me even further. I really wanted to send dad off in a dignified way. I dreaded the feeling of sea sickness if we chose to scatter his ashes at sea and we barely have any relatives in the U.S. that would be a sad feeling to hire a big boat to do the ash ceremony. I was very happy when I found A Journey with Wings. The fact they can record the ash scattering really helped me to have a closure knowing all of our family back home can see how dad's ashes were scattered. I immediately authorized the funeral home to ship dad's cremated remains to California. Jamie made arrangements for his ashes being scattered on a sunny day and I got to choose the music for the video and she recommended Laguna beach which is the least polluted and most beautiful. I can feel now my dad's spirit has been set free. America is his second home for 10 years. He can now choose to stay or float back home from the Pacific Ocean. I highly recommend A Journey with Wings for their unique and great service that is perfect for those who choose to be cremated and don't want to occupy any land upon death. The process is so easy and comforting.
