Our beloved Great Pyrenees passed away at home over the weekend. We wanted her remains treated with dignity and respect, not shipped off to a warehouse somewhere. Gary and his mastiff pack was supportive and welcoming, and he provided same-day services. I would highly recommend Benson Creek when you’re faced with the death of a pet.

We recently lost our American Bulldog Hitch unexpectedly. Benson Brook Pet Cremations was kind, considerate and more than affordable at a time when emotions are running high. Our family recently lost our dog of 17 years, Sara Beth. As heartbreaking of an experience as it was, there was one very bright spot, the services provided by Gary Smith at Benson Brook Pet Cremations. This man went above and beyond to make sure our beloved pup was treated with the respect that she deserved. We cannot put into words how thankful and appreciative we are for Mr. Smiths services. I met Gary for the first time today, if I could give him 20 Stars I would, such a warm wonderful experience the process took about an hour and a half, I now have her here with me. I stopped crying when I took her inside the house it's almost as if she were home again I would strongly recommend Gary and Benson Brooks for your animal creation needs he is the best

We could not handle sending our cat of almost 18 years to some unknown location. Benson Brook was just what we needed. Very quiet location and Gary was reassuring and respectful. We know Gizmo was handled with the attention and care we felt he deserved. He was placed in a lovely handmade cedar box that Gary makes himself. Thank you Gary for doing this thoughtful work.

Gary is so understanding and compassionate during a time that is anything but easy. Being greeted by his pups truly puts you at ease. He gives your loved one a respectful cremation, only doing individual, NOT a mass cremation with dividers or id numbers like I had been informed of by other places. Your pet is the only one, giving you peace of mind that you are getting your loved one back. A facility that is clean and peaceful. This was the first time having a pet cremated, and I would not hesitate to recommend Benson Brook.

I have been using Benson Brook for several years now and I can say that Gary Smith is a very caring man who will do his best to insure that your beloved pet is given the honor and dignity it deserves. Gary has handled cremation services for 2 of my cats and 2 of my beloved dogs, each time I left with a sense of peace knowing that they were truly in good hands. Gary insures every soul is treated like it were one of his own. I drive 3.5 hours round trip simply because I know my pet will be treated with honor and respect. Thank you Gary for all you do for our beloved fur babies.

The first time I went to Benson Brook was out of desperation as my original cremation plans for my cat had fallen through. Following a very traumatic couple of days I had to have him euthanized on Christmas Day 2021, at the emergency vet, which was bad enough but I had to keep his body in my garage, in a plastic tote. when the local pet cremation place I had originally planned to use turned out to be closed for two weeks due to Covid I was left scrambling as I couldn’t deal with leaving my cat dead in a tote for that long, because it felt disrespectful and upsetting to leave my buddy of fifteen years in such a state and simply for practical reasons. A frantic Google search on Monday morning yielded Benson Brook as an alternative. I spoke with Gary and was able to arrange to come by that day, which was a relief. For me it was over an hour and a half drive but Gary was very accommodating and the whole process was handled in about two hours. I and my GF had gone for a drive while we waited and I still remember the peaceful feeling of closure when Gary called to say the process was over. For me it was the much needed conclusion to an absolutely terrible stretch of days.A week ago, when I lost my second cat, who I had also had for over fifteen years, I knew right from the get go I’d be using Benson Brook. For me the long drive time is worth it to know that my cat’s body was being cremated on site, that day. I made arrangements with Gary by phone to come by and again the process was over in about two hours. No worrying about how long I’d have to try and preserve her body in the warm weather until I could get her in to a crematorium, no worrying about where her body was being taken and if it was really her ashes I was getting back. And I had her ashes in a couple of hours. Everyone handles this sort of thing differently from an emotional standpoint but for me personally, the rapid closure that dealing with Benson Brook provided was extremely important, and well worth the long drive.I have no more animals and after losing my two cats that I had since 2006, it’s going to be a very long time before I have another pet. But I would recommend Gary and Benson Brook to anyone requiring cremation services for their animal.

The immense sadness of losing a beloved family member and pet is eased with Benson Brook. Mr Smith is a very caring and supportive person that made a very difficult situation better. He was willing to work with our schedule which changed over the course of a few days and made himself available at each turn. My wife and I know we had found a friend in a time of emotional need. When the unfortunate time beckons again, we will turn to Benson Brook. Hard to describe the peace provided at this time of deep sorrow, but it is greatly appreciated. Highly recommend if facing this difficult moment in time.

Very good service. Extremely accessible and customer oriented. I looked up “pet cremation Maine” on Google when my pet dog Jack passed at age 15 and I contacted Benson Brook. 3 hours later everything was handled with exreme care and courtesy. Very affordable services too.

Was alright he had his dogs out which I didn’t mind but had 4 big dogs jumping on my car so they scratched up my car door and he told me 165 over the phone then somehow switched to 175 when the cremation was over the only good thing was that he had nice pendants, but I loved that we got her back 2 hours after would not go here again tho honestly not worst but for sure wasn’t good.

An excellent, courteous service provided by a an experienced professional. Fine collection of wooden pet urns that are accessible at affordable prices. I highly recommend to locals in the area.
