After I moved to Claiborne from Towson, my sister and I decided to move our mother to Arcadia Assisted Living in Easton - a wonderful place! Sadly she was there for only 3 and a half weeks before she passed away, 2 days before her 98th birthday. We were unfamiliar with local funeral homes, but luckily we were referred Fellows, Helfenbein & Newman. The staff there was lovely, particularyl Kolby Downes, who helped us plan for Mom's approaching death. There was no pressure to upsell on any products or services, and she listened thoughtfully to our requests. They provided a seamless and caring transition from Arcadia to the church in Baltimore where my father is buried. I cannot recommend them enough. Kolby accompanied my mother's body in the hearse, and was there for the funeral and to assist at the graveside. I would recommend them to anyone looking for caring and compassionate funeral services.

Hello Justin,I just wanted to thank you again for all you did for our family and mom.I never would have thought I would be sending a thank you to a funeral home, but you all went so far above and beyond that I need to acknowledge it and especially you.What really stands out to me is the care and respect that was evident from the very first meeting. All our decisions that needed to be made were not rushed, thank you for that. You walked us through the process gently and concisely.When we mentioned to you that mom looked exactly like herself - you were pleased to hear that and would convey that to the people responsible - admitting that the worry of appearances of the family member to the family really mattered and it was just as nerve wracking for you as well as for us.I also would like to thank you again for opening a private viewing for my mom’s 90yr old sister and a few family members who were unable to attend the wake on Thursday. It meant so much to me and my cousin that my Aunt was able to say good bye to her sister and hold that memory as well as she was able. You were so considerate on getting the wheelchair into the Home and thoughtful to the end with giving us bottles of water since it was so hot out. You truly go above and beyond…..and don’t think we didn’t notice you sweeping the leaves from in front of the church before her Mass. This was an incredibly difficult time for our family as we celebrated the loss of both our parents. Emotions were high with grief and conflict. During every step of the journey Justin went above and beyond to support and comfort our family during such a devastating time. He thought ahead to what we might need when we were so broken we couldn’t think for ourselves. Justin meant my brother Jeff on one occasion, and during making hotel reservations, he remembered seeing my brother with a Walking stick and went the extra mile to make his reservations on the first floor. September 1st 2018 my life changed when my best friend passed suddenly. My sister passed away leaving her 5 year old daughter behind. The funeral home took care of my sister like no other company. I know that as crazy as it sounds, they even played her favorite music on the way to and from the medical examiner’s office. Why? Because her life was important.. our love for her is important to them. Our services as hard and emotional as they were... each member of their team were amazing. Taking care of the needs of the family... and assisting each guest in anything they needed. A recent 1 star rating was given to the funeral home as a result in a personal stab at the funeral home who took care of my sister.. simply because she was my sister. The visitor who left it is in the middle of a legal battle with my family. We feel deeply sorry to each owner and employee at FHN. Your career is one of the hardest. The emotional weight each of you carry is something I personally can’t imagine. You do not deserve to be involved in someone’s game.

My husband was an Annapolis Capital reporter murdered in the mass shooting June 28, 2018. FHN Funeral Home was not the closest service provider, but was so highly recommended I put myself in their compassionate and competent hands. Jen Chance handled the despondent family, the medical examiner, the dignified guests, the press scrum, the police presence, the traffic jams, the uncertain reception requirements, the photo display, the music, the financial matters, and me, in all my distress, with gentle fortitude, efficiency, and grace. Everything, they were wonderful when my nephew passed years ago and when my brother passed 5 years ago. I was having trouble with my hip, they took care of me with so much passion. A lot of my friends commented to me how professional they all were. Magnificent funeral home and people. Sir:Last November Justin handled my mother's final requests with incredible skill and compassion. I met with Justin prior and we had established how to proceed. When the day came he with a cohort visited my mother's home who was under Hospice care and took care of her with such respect it humbled me. Newnam's has always gone above & beyond to show compassion to families when it's needed most. During the crucial period of planning through the time of the service, they don't just leave it there, they call you to check on you, they give you guidance verbally as well as written (because we're not thinking clearly at the time), and honor your loved one during the holidays with a crystal ornament on their tree. (most people don't even come in to pick their ornament up, can't imagine why, ours is beautiful). This isn't an easy career choice, God bless each one of them there, they treat you & your loved one like family. I personally know one of the young ladies whose about to take her final exam to become a licensed mortician, Melissa Martelli, she sets the example of how to show respect & compassion towards people in the hour of loss. I've used this funeral home for several family members & I can't say enough good things about them, they go the extra mile.

We had to go home and wash our washables and Dry Clean our other garments from sitting on the couch. Why? The unmistakable odor of Urine. For 1 hour all of us were subjected to this dreadful odor. We not only washed our garments but showered again. Dreadful

I used the link on the Funeral Home page to order flowers. The flowers that were "guarenteed to be hand delivered" was not! They said no one was there to receive them. This was for a graveside service. I was not available when they left message. So they never got delivered!

Larrimore's passing.Bill & I had our funerals planned and prepaid for several years and had several meetings with FHN to accomplish these plans.to make it easier on the surviving partner and family.Chris Fontana worked with us and we thank Chris so much for the care he gave to both my son and myself. Also, Kelly Legg was our Concierge and gave us the help that we needed, both during and after as we worked though our post service checklists. September 1st 2018 my life changed when my best friend passed suddenly. My sister passed away leaving her 5 year old daughter behind. The funeral home took care of my sister like no other company. I know that as crazy as it sounds, they even played her favorite music on the way to and from the medical examiner’s office. Why? Because her life was important.. our love for her is important to them. Our services as hard and emotional as they were... each member of their team were amazing. Taking care of the needs of the family... and assisting each guest in anything they needed. A recent 1 star rating was given to the funeral home as a result in a personal stab at the funeral home who took care of my sister.. simply because she was my sister. The visitor who left it is in the middle of a legal battle with my family. We feel deeply sorry to each owner and employee at FHN. Your career is one of the hardest. The emotional weight each of you carry is something I personally can’t imagine. You do not deserve to be involved in someone’s game.

FHN (Easton) recently handled arrangements for my father.Melissa executed every aspect of our father’s wishes flawlessly. She was patient, professional, and made the process as simple as possible. Her knowledge and skill were evident but what unquestionably shone through was her unwavering dedication to ensuring that our Dad was treated with dignity and respect and that his final wishes were carried out exactly as he would have wanted them to be. I am so grateful to Chad Helfenbein and the FHN team for making a difficult time so easy. My father received such a wonderful life celebration thanks to FHN. Chad and the staff were kind, responsive, professional, prompt, and attended to every detail. My father did not make funeral arrangements for himself but left requests that required real effort on the part of FHN to fulfill. I’m writing this 4 months later, but I really wanted to note how much the staff here went above and beyond in our family’s time of grief. Justin was the gentleman that we worked with. He was so kind, patient, and handled everything so efficiently. He provided us with all the tools we needed to handle future affairs. I highly recommend this funeral home.

My husband was an Annapolis Capital reporter murdered in the mass shooting June 28, 2018. FHN Funeral Home was not the closest service provider, but was so highly recommended I put myself in their compassionate and competent hands. Jen Chance handled the despondent family, the medical examiner, the dignified guests, the press scrum, the police presence, the traffic jams, the uncertain reception requirements, the photo display, the music, the financial matters, and me, in all my distress, with gentle fortitude, efficiency, and grace. I can't thank her enough.

Everything, they were wonderful when my nephew passed years ago and when my brother passed 5 years ago. I was having trouble with my hip, they took care of me with so much passion. A lot of my friends commented to me how professional they all were. Magnificent funeral home and people. I sent them a letter telling them how much I appreciated everything they did and now I have the opportunity tell everyone.

Sir:Last November Justin handled my mother's final requests with incredible skill and compassion. I met with Justin prior and we had established how to proceed. When the day came he with a cohort visited my mother's home who was under Hospice care and took care of her with such respect it humbled me. It was clear to my family I made the correct selection in Justin and your entire organization. A most difficult task was handled with such aplomb I wanted to share my families respect. Newnam's has always gone above & beyond to show compassion to families when it's needed most. During the crucial period of planning through the time of the service, they don't just leave it there, they call you to check on you, they give you guidance verbally as well as written (because we're not thinking clearly at the time), and honor your loved one during the holidays with a crystal ornament on their tree. (most people don't even come in to pick their ornament up, can't imagine why, ours is beautiful). This isn't an easy career choice, God bless each one of them there, they treat you & your loved one like family. I personally know one of the young ladies whose about to take her final exam to become a licensed mortician, Melissa Martelli, she sets the example of how to show respect & compassion towards people in the hour of loss. I've used this funeral home for several family members & I can't say enough good things about them, they go the extra mile.

It's never easy losing a loved one, but everyone here was so kind, compassionate, and understanding. The hall is gorgeous. I didn't worry about one detail once i walked into the funeral home. While i hope to never return, reality says we will be back, to trust them with anyother beautiful service.

We had to go home and wash our washables and Dry Clean our other garments from sitting on the couch. Why? The unmistakable odor of Urine. For 1 hour all of us were subjected to this dreadful odor. We not only washed our garments but showered again. Dreadful

I used the link on the Funeral Home page to order flowers. The flowers that were "guarenteed to be hand delivered" was not! They said no one was there to receive them. This was for a graveside service. I was not available when they left message. So they never got delivered!
