Our baby boy unexpectedly had to be euthanized this past Thursday and we received him back within a few days in the beautiful stainless steel urn provided as an option by DGS. Timeliness, definitely 5 stars.I called DGS this past Monday morning to see if they could provide an ink paw print. They initially said he hadn’t arrived yet & to call his vet to see if they would do it. I called his vet and they stated DGS picked him up that previous Friday. Called DGS back and took about an hour to locate my pup. As we attempted to make our way to the facility, I ended up receiving a call back that they were able to locate him and sending me an invoice for the keepsakes. The miscommunication and uncertainty is the reason for 4 stars overall. It was overwhelming to hear your 140lb dog couldn’t be found for an hour then to be hit with a bill for a simple print after all the turmoil of losing a family member. The prints are extremely beautiful, but I highly recommend doing them yourself (if you can) as they charge $25 per print.

Such loving and caring people! We have used them twice, once for our cat many years ago and again this past September when our dog passed. I can’t say enough about how wonderful each and every person was that we dealt with at DGS. I highly recommend them. They treated both of our fur babies with love and dignity, as well as treating us with kindness as we grieved.

I lost my cat Marge and was recommended by OP Veterinary Hospital to do her cremation at DGS. I received her ashes today in a beautiful wooden chest with her name engraved on the top. I was expecting a plain box with maybe a generic paw print but they really went above and beyond to make her urn beautiful. The clay paw print they provided is high quality and even had a few of her hairs in it! It’s so comforting knowing that they took such good care of my baby after her passing. The service was quick too (~1 week) and I’m so glad to have Marge home in beautiful condition.

DGS was absolutely amazing! I suddenly loss my cat Buddy. We took him to Orchard Park emergency vet. They sent Buddy to DGS with high recommendations! They gave me their number. One thing I truly wanted was an ink print of his paws. I called after hours and left a message. Next morning received a phone call from a personal cell phone with every question being addressed. While on the phone another employee was calling at the same time to return my call. They went above and beyond everything I wanted. Included multiple paw prints and even a clay print. I was lost with the passing of Buddy and they went to the greatest lengths to help cherish him. Thank you so much!

I came from Canada to redo my one dogs urn I originally did in Canada and when my second baby passed in New York , they took care of her. They went above and beyond with every detail on the wooden box and gave me great quality I was so impressed. Even when things weren’t exactly what I thought they’d be, they corrected the issue free of charge and the prices are already fabulous. I can’t recommend them enough service, impeccable, quality of the earn fantastic I will take all my babies there to get their urns

Mike and his staff were so wonderful. His empathy was sincere and kind and genuine. Truly made the whole process comforting. We lost on of our free roam house buns unexpectedly. They usually put a paw print on the nice wooden Box where the ashes go. Since bunnies don't have paws, they surprised me by having an image of bunnies engraved on the top. They really did go above and beyond, and their compassion truly didn't go unnoticed. Sadly today, a few months later, my 16 year old dog who passed away of old age last night, now has to be taken in also. I wouldn't think to bring him anywhere else but here. I!ow he is in good hands!Thank you Mike and your staff for being so kind.-Melissa

Very compassionate and kind. I was nervous and scared about what I should do with my beloved pet and they walked me through everything kindly and respectfully. They took time to explain everything to me, over the phone and in person. They were amazing to connect with, despite what we were connecting over. I highly recommend them, the urn has my pet’s name engraved on it, and they communicated everything with lots of compassion to my loss.

A lot of people don't think about what company they are going to go through when they want the ashes of a pet who has passed. I'm really happy Mike and his team were the ones that helped me through this. Everyone that I've met with we incredibly personal and professional. As hard as a situation like this is, I think they understand that and they will try to help in anyway they can. From the wood to the engraving, the box was beautiful and I couldn't have asked for a better outcome. This was the final piece I needed before I could start to move on and I want to give the biggest shout out again to Mike, Eric and everyone that works at DGS how they handled everything. 🙏

After the loss of my “family member” of 14 years (Puck) and the inexcusable treatment from my Vet, I was pleasantly surprised when I talked to Eric. I called him and after explaining the lack of information/empathy etc. provided by my vet, Eric went above and beyond my expectations. He was so friendly and compassionate for my situation and my loss and allowed me to pickup my dogs ashes directly from him because I explained that I did not wanna step foot back in my vets office after the way I was treated. I would highly recommend this service to anyone who is going through the heartbreak of losing a fur baby. Thank you so much for everything Eric!

This family owned business is full of the most genuine, respectful, kind, understanding, and gentle people I could have ever hoped for on one of the worst days of my life. I never thought of what I would do when the day came that my almost 10 year old mastiff would pass away, but when that time came unexpectedly, DGS of WNY was there for every step of the way. They don't advertise this, but in times of need (like my own with my 100+ pound large dog breed) they offer a pick up service for an additional fee. I don't know what we would have done without them, and they took tremendous care with cremating and personalizing the cedar box of his final resting place. I don't leave reviews often, but the saints who work in this business deserve recognition for the peace of mind they were able to give my family, and for the beautiful way they were able to honor Zeus's life. I am so grateful for their kindness.

An amazing and compassionate place for handling aftercare of your fur babies. The price is more than reasonable and turn-around time is also great. Everything was explained completely and any questions were fully answered. There was no feeling of being rushed at all. I can't recommend DGS enough.

Was extremely nice, was a clean building, can do lovely engravings, I got my cat in her urn within 2 days of dropping her off. I absolutely would use this service again. Thank you, I believe his name was Eric who took care of us.

A week ago we had to let our baby Coco cross the Rainbow Bridge. Her passing was very peaceful in my arms. I needed a place to take her for cremation and our Veterinarian suggested DGS of WNY. I could not have asked for kinder more compassionate experience from DGS. They listened to my needs to see our baby’s journey finished in what I needed for her. I would highly recommend this very wonderful group of people to treat your pet and you with the utmost dignity and respect. Thank you so much Mike and Eric!

Erik and the guys were amazing to work with after the death of our dog. Our dog passed away while we were on vacation. DGS made a very sad and stressful situation easy on our family. We gave them the address of where to pick up Charlie and I was told "don't worry, we will take care of everything". They did just that! Their kindness will not be forgotten. Within days of our return, Charlie and his paw prints were ready. I would recommend Erik and DGS to anyone! Local guys doing it right!

Eric was the best. Really helped us out in a somewhat desperate time of need. His compassion was unmatched, and at the same time down to earth. The price was more than just reasonable… any other place would have been much more money for much less on services. The entire experience was made easier than it would have been elsewhere. Thanks to Eric and the family which runs this service

Words cannot express how truly thankful we are for the service that you provide. When our Addison needed to return to God’s arms; it was a tough decision 😢 that we needed to make. Receiving her ashes today in her final resting box made this hurt 💔 a little easier. We cannot thank you enough for providing us with our ‘puppy’ 🐾(who was 11yrs old) back where she belongs; in our home. God bless you and your team. 💕

More than five stars. This company is absolutely amazing and doesn't always get the credit they deserve. Many veterinary offices go through them for their cremations so the offices tend to get the credit. They are so kind and personable and understanding as they have many pets themselves. They helped me with two of my 17 1/2 yr old cats that passed. And Eric called me back first thing this morning when one of my dogs passed last night. I cannot sing their praises enough. Thank you guys for all you do.

Last week my brother's 2yrold sweet Teddy lost his battle with giardia and was brought to your place for the next life-to-death step. He brought him home a few days ago in a beautiful and thoughtful gift package. So very sad to know he went into a box too soon, but at least it's a pretty one. Your most necessary service exemplifies compassion, kindness and the true care that is needed to help those who get to move on AND those who are left behind to miss them. It broke my heart to hear that there are some who get dropped off and never get picked back up :'( A possible remedy for unclaimed ashes to respectfully scatter: a raised planter or nearby patch to turn into a planted, cared for bed for a few evergreens, easycare roses and a groundcover. Itd be a cute dedication/memorial area for your visitors (embodied and non) to see as well <3 and you would have a very happy garden!! Thank you for taking good care of us all (furry and non) esp our Teddybear and brother Dave <3 much love and peaceful tidings from relatives in Tennessee!!

I brought my boy in buddy he was my emotional support fur baby. I believe his name was Mike not sure I was terrified to leave him thinking everything possible could go wrong. He was the most caring man he made me feel comfortable and answered every question I asked him. There prices are so reasonable it made it easy on us also they give you a beautiful cedar box with a lock for the ashes. They make the hard experience more easy on you. My boy died Nov 8 brought him in Nov 9 get him back Nov 10. I would recommend them at 100% there awesome.

We had our Jack Russell put down by a vet friend of ours who recommended DGS for cremation. Mike was so understanding and took very good care of our pup. The process was done in a timely manner and even delivered her to our vet for pickup. We highly recommend DGS.

My Shadow passed away while I was at work over the weekend. Mike called me back immediately on Monday, and I was able to drop my cat off that day. I just got him back today, just in time for the holiday. I cannot fathom running a business where all you deal with is death and broken-hearted people, yet they do so with a smile. The guys here are so understanding and sympathetic. At drop off, they were okay with me crying. They asked if I was okay, and asked about Shadow. It's these small things that make them stand out from the rest. If you've recently lost a fur baby, I truly cannot reccommend DGS enough. They're very affordable, and faster than the cremation process of at vet's office. For me, this was a huge deal because my Shadow was my ESA.Thank you for everything you guys do. Truly, thank you.

Highly recommend! Mike and his partner met with us when we dropped off our beautiful shih tzu Lacey just 3 days before Christmas. They were both compassionate and professional, and it made us feel better knowing our beloved pet was going to be treated with dignity and respect. Mike even went out of his way to deliver her remains to our home on Christmas Eve, so our Lacey would be back home. I’m glad I made the decision to use this company. If you have to deal with the awful need to care for your pet after death, don’t trust anyone else.

These guys are great! Highly recommend! I have had a few of my dogs cremated with them, most recent being my best friend BamBam, a 200lb mastiff. They came out, picked him up and handled with care. Erik and Mike are amazing! Very compassionate and professional. Thanks again guys!

We recently lost Hubble, a dearly loved member of our family. He was a 2 year old Bearded Dragon that captured our hearts. Erik & Mike, the owners of DGS worked to help us memorialize 'Hubby". Erik worked to custom engrave Hubby's picture on his memorial as well. The patience, sympathy, care and compassion that they displayed throughout the entire ordeal gave us much comfort that he was in the "right hands". Don't let your Vet take charge of this final goodbye and "upcharge you" for it. We didn't care about the money but the entire DGS experience was as beautiful & respectful as you could want. Call Mike and Erik directly and experience their wonderful service (and save some money)

I can not say enough about this company! They made the whole process of caring for our beloved dog, Tegan and her cremation so very easy. They came and picked her up and brought her ashes back to us. They did so in a very caring and sympathetic manner. If you're ever going in need of their services, I would highly recommend them. Also the price was very reasonable, but their caring is what I would recommend them for.
Eric
I've never dealt with such a sympathetic, caring business and employees in all my years of having pets as I did with this company. They were happy to handle my request of cremation with a clip of hair and footprints of my boy Apollo. They take pride in honoring a loved ones pets. You will not be disappointed by them when the painful time comes.

I'd like to thank DGS for making our time of grief a lil easier. They were understanding an caring to our needs. Highly recommend. Nice wooden box "be good enough for my ashes". We have more fur babies an will be using only them in the future. Hopefully not anytime soon. If you love your fur babies this the place. Very reasonable prices an dont forget to pick them up. Thanks again DGS.

I was very very pleased with the care, concern and all around treatment shown me on a most difficult day. I believe I spoke with all the brothers at this DGS. I was most impressed the way I was treated like a family member in addition to service that was outstanding! Thank you from the bottom of my grieving heart. My poodle Vinny could not have been in better hands.

My son and I brought our dog here to be cremated. It was by far the cheapest place around. They even offered to meet me by my home with her ashes because I lived a half hour away. Years ago I had my other dog cremated and paid almost 3 times as much and got her ashes back a month later in a tacky metal tin. Dgs gave me a beautiful wooden box with a lock and key 2 days later. I would definitely recommend them.

If I could give this place ZERO stars I ABSOLUTELY would! This place is absolutely DISGUSTING and has ZERO compassion for animals or their BELOVED OWNERS! They are negligent and inhumane! My beloved cat "Simba" of almost 19 years passed away in my arms on May 5, 2019. He died 5 days before his 19th Birthday! He came from Dublin, California when I rescued him as a kitten August 2000. I watched him take his LAST Breaths in my arms on Sunday, May 5, 2019! I am so glad he passed away where his devoted family loved him surrounded by my husband and I.My 2 young human children that he was with since they were brought home from the hospital as newborns. My daughter that is 3 years old and my son that is 6 years old, his cat best friends "Sumo" and "JOHN" and his Dog Ziggy! All rescues!I had my beloved cat since I was 21 yrs old until I was 40. He came from Northern California and I rescued him at 12 weeks old. Thankfully I was able to spend time with him. I called the owner TWO times and left messages in the middle of the night that I wanted a PAW PRINT. If they could not do it they should have immediately said so. Transportation was no issue. I would have taken that cat to the BEST aftercare place. I recieved No return phone calls about the paw print. So I had my husband call this owner. I hardly could talk to anyone I was so full of grief! He said he doesn't do clay paw prints due to breakage. But that he could do TWO on paper and we could pick the one we wanted free of charge. Something was really unsettling about this place since I saw this previous bad review. It was my intuition. My husband gets a call yesterday that the paw print was NEVER done. And that my cat's remains were dropped off at our vets. Somehow this guy thinks being honest and saying he could have covered his tracks, but was honest and never charged us for the ashes. I know what goes on and I also would have known if he had sent me a different cats paw print. I looked at my cats paws for NINETEEN WHOLE years! He also told my husband they tried pulling my cat out, but he was already gone from the incinerator to do a paw print. It is CALLED do your JOB right. DO NOT leave it for someone ELSE to DO! OR HIRE COMPETENT PEOPLE I was a Veterinary assistant in Northern California and NY State. I also rode and showed my own Equine.I have done a few dog/cat cremations myself while working in NYS. And I used to pick up deceased animals and would drop them off at a cremation facility. I ALWAYS gave my UTMOST RESPECT to all owners animals! DO NOT make promises you can not keep bottom line! My husband came home and told me yesterday about the paw print and I just WEPT and WEPT when I heard what this place did. I have been grieving ever since my beloved Simba was declining and passed in my ARMS! Dr. Mike's Furry Friends was our vet and he HAS TWO CONTRACTS with aftercare facilities. I NEVER EVER knew of this! This place did not do my 6 year old son's cat NALA in 2017. It was Pet Heaven. And that is where I would have taken Simba. If these people could not do THEIR JOB right I would have done my cat's paw print MYSELF! Or buried my Simba myself! Thankfully I took a lock of fur of Simba's before handing his body to the vets. I have withdrawn from my previous vet Dr. Mike's after this absolutely APPALLING Experience! I have to warn people about this place.YES, they did NOT charge me for Simba's remains due to their screw ups. I could not even bare to pick up my cat's remains my husband did at the vets. Yes this place was honest about the paw print. But how do I KNOW these are Simba's remains! Please Be Careful! We have since changed veterinarians! I will never use this place ever!!!! I am already in tremendous amounts of grief and this place made it 100 times worse!

I have brought several of my cats here. They are very kind, respectful people. I highly recommend them.

Wonderful company- kind and respectful staff during a difficult period. They were so helpful guiding us as we navigated the sudden death of our elderly xl breed dog in the home. It was something we had been preparing for emotionally, but not logistically what to do after the fact.

It's been over a year since we lost our precious puppy and I still remember how kind and helpful they were when we were at our most desperate. They were there when we needed them and we will always appreciate that.

The fellas at DGS are the kindest and most generous out there. I lost my 19 year old kitty and they had her ashes back to me in 48 hours. It was nice to have the closure and to have her home so quickly. They are an asset to the veterinary community of WNY

Thank you both so much for your kindness and compassion caring for my Kaylee. Losing a pet is never easy but I have to say I couldn't have picked a better place for her final arrangements. Thank you again for helping to ease the pain of our loss!

Horrible place. They told me to be there by 5pm to pick up my pets remains. I called at 4:45pm to let them know I would be 5 minutes late. I actually ended up getting there exactly at 5pm and the doors were already locked. I tried to called, no answer. I then knocked on the door, no answer. I then looked down at the door and found my pet not even in a bag, just in the wooden box next to the door with my pets name on it. They. Left. My. Beloved. Pet. Alone. Outside. Not. Even. Wrapped. In. Anything. The only reason I knew it was my pet was because it had my pets name on it, it didn't even have my name on it. I cried my eyes out knowing they did this. I will never go to such horrible people ever again.

My Year and a half old Kitty,Yoda had passed away unexpectedly.Since it was my first time having a pet cremated,I wanted a place that was truly caring and understanding because I was emotionally a wreck. As I read through many reviews of different places,DGS seemed to be the place my heart connected with.Just after speaking with someone on the phone, I knew I had made the right choice. If I could give DGS all the Stars in the world,I definitely would!!!! There's not enough expression's to describe how wonderful DGS and the personel are. They"re truly kind, understanding, passionate and take they're time with you. They don't make you feel like it's just a place of business.Anyone out there looking for a place to care for they're Fur Babies,I highly recommend DGS ABOVE ALL!!!!! Thank You,DGS for wonderful, heartfelt experience 😺😇😊.

Our 18 year old fur baby passed away overnight . We took him in the next morning , and got to bring him “home “ the same evening . Kind caring service at a very hard time !

I encountered a staff of extremely compassionate, caring and understanding people at a most difficult time.Thank you so much.

The owner is amazing and compassionate! You don’t need to pay a vet or company to drive your pet here!

Michael Harrington

DGS was highly recommended by our Veterinarian. Erik and Mike were wonderful to work with, they were very kind and caring at this difficult time. They took care of our beloved dog with respect and dignity.

Laurie Johnston
It's been over a year since we lost our precious puppy and I still remember how kind and helpful they were when we were at our most desperate. They were there when we needed them and we will always appreciate that.
Caroline Klepfer
The fellas at DGS are the kindest and most generous out there. I lost my 19 year old kitty and they had her ashes back to me in 48 hours. It was nice to have the closure and to have her home so quickly. They are an asset to the veterinary community of WNY

Eric was very kind and compassionate. We had our dog back home the same day in a beautiful cedar boxMany thanks in making such a difficult time a little less
